Obstructed safety beams. These are safety sensors located internally or externally in the door frame which are designed to prevent the doors closing on objects or persons paused in the doorway. These can be one or two sets around ankle height and knee height, usually clear or black about 15mm diameter. If dirty, obstructed, in bright sun or poorly aligned, the doors will not close.

Overhead presence sensor. These are located externally or externally above the door, which are designed to prevent the doors closing on objects or persons paused in the doorway. If there is any change to the environment below the door, eg plant, mat, rain, then door may not close.

No 230v mains power to door operator. Doors will usually stay open or run at reduced speed (and may beep) depending on brand/model. Indicator lights on overhead movement sensors do not illuminate. Note some models will run sensors on battery backup.

Fire alarm activation or emergency door release switch activated.

Overhead movement sensors activated by swaying plants, signs, banners, decorations, etc.

Mode switch not in correct position (auto).

Overhead sensor obstructed or damaged by vandal/insects/water.

Doors manually locked.

Door may be controlled by access control system, telling door to remain locked. Contact security contractor.

No mains power.

Doors obstructed by stones, debris or mat. Doors will usually resume normal operation when obstruction removed and door can do full open/close cycle.

Door travel has been obstructed by furniture or heavy object.

Mechanism or control fault.

Check for stones, debris under doors. Loose/dirty floor guides (especially frameless glass doors).

Note. Switching off mains power to 'reset' unit only works on some older door operators as most modern units have battery backup systems.
